3. Installation on other turntables
If your turntable disposes of a convertible tonearm base, please contact the turntable
manufacturer to get a compatible tonearm base to the VTA-Lifter. The tonearn base have to
put central on a radius, which can diversify according to the length of the tonearm and which
has a bore of 50mm diameter. The gage for the radius describes the distance between the
tonearm-bearing-central point and the turntable-bearing-central point. This value you should
take for the manuals of the tonearm. At a clearaudio-Unify 9-tonearm e.g. there is the
choosen gage for the radius at 222mm. The central point of the through hole for the VTA-
Lifter in the tonearm basis aqpplies on the equal radius.
After fitting the tonearm basis on your turntable, you can continue the installation as
described under point 3.
Unless your turntable haven’t a convertible tonearm basis at the disposal, we will advice you
to contact the manufacturer of the turntable that the necessary locating bore for the VTA-
Lifter can be realized expertly.*
Continue the installation as it is specified under point 3.
4. Chance of the fitting-sleeve
Depending on the used tonearmtype you have to choose the equal fitting-sleeve. There are
three different fitting-sleeves included in delivery of the VTA-Lifter. The majority of the
current tonearms can be assembled with it. If you need e.g. an „exotic“ tonearm for the right
fitting-sleeve, we are poised to craft this fitting-sleeve as you desire
(see point 5 / S. 7).

Fitting-sleeve 2: Æ Linn tonearms, project tonearms or similar modelles
Fitting-sleeve 3: Æ Rega RB 250, RB 300
Remove, if exist, the tonearm out of the VTA-Lifter.
Therefore you turn the lever of the lifter as far as
possible in the with „+“ marked rotating direction, to
unscrew the both sidewards mounting maggot screws
and then you can take out the tonearm.
To change the fitting-sleeve, it is necessary to take the
VTA-Lifter out of the tonearm basis of your turntable,
by removing the screw nut (#3).
Following loose the maggot screw which is
positionated on the scope of the VTA-Lifter and turn
this completely out of the threat.
Now you are able to turn out the threat anti clockwise and remove it out of the VTA-Lifter.
